As the host of Seven’s ratings leader, Today Tonight, Matt White is one of Australia’s leading TV presenters. Joining Today Tonight in October 2008, Matt previously presented the sports segment of Seven News in Sydney, completing the line-up for the evening news, with Ian Ross and Sara Groen.
Matt began his journalism career at The Manly Daily newspaper, before moving to radio and joining Newcastle's NEWFM to present breakfast news. His first move into television came in 1992 when he joined NBN Television as the weekend sports presenter. After a brief return to radio with Triple M, Matthew joined the sports team at Network Ten as a reporter. Matthew's natural presence in front of camera was soon noticed and he became the weekend host of Sports Tonight before joining Seven News in June 2004.
Matthew has a diverse sports background having worked on a variety of telecasts including the V8 Supercars, Formula One Motor Racing, the Melbourne Cup, the Uncle Toby's IronMan Series, US Open Golf tournaments and AFL Grand Finals. In 2004, Matthew joined Johanna Griggs as co-host of Seven's flagship sports program Sportsworld on Sunday mornings. He was one of the Seven Network's primetime anchors for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Games.
Matt is currently extending his talent even further as a contestant on Series 9 of Dancing With The Stars.
